Overview

Jollof Hub West African Cuisines, located at 14314 Greenwood Ave N in Seattle, offers a vibrant and authentic taste of West Africa. This African restaurant stands out for its dedication to traditional flavors, delivering dishes that feel both comforting and fresh. From the first bite, the Benachin Jollof Rice commands attention — richly seasoned with perfectly cooked vegetables and tender lamb that melts from the bone, it’s a dish celebrated by many patrons as a highlight of their culinary experience here.

The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring mainstays like Egusi and Okra (Super Kanja) soups that showcase authentic West African spices and textures. Notably, the fufu arrives soft and doughlike, ideal for pairing with these hearty stews, bringing an immersive cultural touch to the meal. Visitors often mention the soulful depth of the soups, though some suggest more generous portions of meats would elevate the experience even further.

Small bites and snacks like meat pies, fish pies, and shrimp pies add an exciting variety, each offering flaky, buttery crusts filled with rich, flavorful meat or seafood. The plantain slices are caramelized to perfection and frequently described as some of the best in Seattle—balanced between sweetness and a golden crispness that pairs wonderfully with the spices of the main dishes.

Jollof Hub’s ambiance reflects its culinary authenticity, providing a casual, welcoming environment suited for individuals and families alike. While one guest noted the ventilation could be improved to clear some kitchen smoke during busy times, the overall warmth from the staff stands out. The service is friendly and informative, giving diners helpful insights into the origins and preparation of each dish, enhancing the cultural experience.

For those seeking a genuine West African culinary journey in Seattle, Jollof Hub is a true gem. The restaurant appeals to adventurous food lovers eager to explore bold, vibrant flavors and those looking for the comfort of home-style cooking—all within a neighborhood setting that invites repeat visits.

Plasas and egusi always hits here. The soup flavors are incredible, but they seriously skimp on meat cuts, both in variety and amount, considering how steep the price is. They could also improve the ventilation of the restaurant which got uncomfortably smoky during one visit.

This restaurant is a true hidden gem! I ordered the egusi soup and my boyfriend had the lamb domoda, it was so tender it literally fell clean off the bone. We also shared meat pies and plantains, and both were amazing: the pies were flaky and savory, and the plantains perfectly caramelized. What really shines here is how thoughtful and authentic the cooking feels. You can taste the care in every bite. Comforting, and absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to come again! Thank you!!!
